Safety Tips for Your Baby Activity Center

A baby activity center is a great toy for both keeping your little one occupied as well as giving you a much needed break. But there are a few things regarding safety that you should keep in mind as well.

First, follow the baby center’s directions of your in regards to the weight, height, and age guidelines that it presents. This is because it was designed to be used safely within those guidelines. When you ignore them, you’re essentially ignoring your little one’s safety. The age restrictions help with allowing your baby to be old enough to be able to sit in it without your assistance and the weight and height recommendations help protect it from tipping over. If your baby can easily tip their activity center over, this means that it is no longer safe and doesn’t need to be used anymore. You should either upgrade to one that’s designed for bigger and older kids or you should look into other forms of toys like baby jumpers.

Secondly, you need to make sure that it is used in a safe place. This includes keeping it away from places in your house that have things that could fall on your baby as they play in it. It also means keeping it away from hazardous areas such as the pool (if you have one). This is because it is easy for your little one to accidentally fall into the pool. You must also keep them away from stairs, as your baby may fall down, hurting themselves. Another place that you may not view as dangerous but should be off limits is the kitchen. This is because there are so many things on the counters that could fall and hurt your baby like pots, plates, and pans. So if you can help it, keep them out of the kitchen.

Finally, but possibly most important, make sure you are cognizant of where your baby is at all time. The baby center does in fact allow you to leave the room and go do something else, but I would advise against this, as all it takes is one moment for something disastrous to happen. So if you need to leave the room for any extended amount of time (and even that is pushing it), you should take both the baby and their activity center with you.
